I trialled the Xmaease cream for my 5 month old daughter who developed severe eczema at 3 to 4 months of age. She had very itchy, dry and excoriated skin all over her body, face and head that she would sometimes scratch until it would bleed. She was a very unhappy baby! I used the cream instead of her usual greasy emollient and hydrocortisone cream.
I’m liking
The Xmaease cream is non greasy which is a big plus for me. It absorbed quickly leaving no residue, but leaving the skin nicely hydrated. I used the cream 2-3 times a day. Another plus for me was that you don’t need to use a lot of it to get good coverage over the skin. A small amount definitely goes a long way. Xmaease also has a mild, but pleasant smell. Another plus for me is knowing that there are no harsh chemicals in Xmaease. Having to put lots of creams and ointments on a young baby is hard when you know that the ingredients aren’t natural. Using Xmaease gave me peace of mind knowing that all the ingredients were safe to use on delicate baby skin. My daughter became more settled and scratched herself less and less the more I used the cream.
Things that made me go hmmmm
Xmaease has made a big difference to the overall hydration of my daughter’s skin, but there are still some red/dry areas where she gets eczema most severely. I still had to use some hydrocortisone on these areas, but definietly less than I would have done using her nomal creams. The only other downside to this product is the price, as per tube it’s relatively expensive. However, as I said before – a little goes a long way.
The conclusion
Overall I really liked Xmaease as a product. It feels and smells nice and is non greasy. It hydrates the skin well, meaning I used the hydrocortisone less and have a happier baby who scratches less. I would recommend Xmaease to other adults and parents with children with eczema, but I would tell them the price first.
