Fairy Godfathers don’t do magic, thinks Fairy Godmother. Yeah right says Fairy Godfather.
The play is about Fairy Godfather who experiments with magic, even though he’s told he can’t. He wants to be as cool as Fairy Godmother. Through some lies and trickery he gets a magic wand and makes a mess of things.
I’m liking
We liked being able to yell out suggestions that influenced the play. The audience’s suggestions made it all very funny. Kiri loved the opportunity to get up and help with the costumes for Ben, who had to dress up so that Tulip Petal, his Fairy Godfather could try his magic out on him.
Because the audience helped choose so much, we can’t tell you much more about the play as every show will be different – even Fairy Godfather’s name! It all depends what you, the audience, suggest!
Things that made me go hmmmm
At first neither of us were sure we were liking it, but it was just very different from what we’d been expecting – actually it was way better, especially as more and more suggestions were made from the audience!
The conclusion
This is a fun thing to do for the holidays! We recommend it for primary-aged kids with a good big imagination, and an open mind for humour. Younger children may find the interactive setting a little intimidating but bound to be a magic hilarious time for the more outgoing older kids! Don’t miss it!
