I’ve already read “We were liars” by E Lockhart which I really enjoyed so I started reading the disreputable history with a lot of expectation. And I wasn’t disappointed, it is beautifully written and totally engaging. Despite being teen fiction (and me not being a teen) I enjoyed it.
I’m liking
The lead character is a strong young woman and takes exception to the boys’ own club that exists on her school campus. So she sets out to find out more about the club while at the same time climbing the social ranks at school.
Things that made me go hmmmm
Despite being full of complexity I felt the book ended a bit cleanly with lots of things tidied up a bit conveniently.
The conclusion
E Lockhart is a great author and this is a wonderfully written book. While it finishes a little too cleanly the journey is enjoyable and the way she uses words is fantastic.
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E Lockhart retails for around $18.
