I found this book very informative and useful for all 3 of my pregnancies (but especially my first). I had no idea what to expect when I was pregnant the first time around and when my midwife gave me this book I basically read it from cover to cover.
I bought this book from trade me and I thought it covered: It’s an essential, up-to-the minute guide helping women to make informed choices on everything from home or hospital birth to nappies, breastfeeding and bottle-feeding.
When i first found i was pregnant i was sooooo determind i didn’t need to refer to a book. I was soooooo wrong! This book is so insightful, i found i was reading parts daily during my pregnancies. I also found it helpful after i miscarried. I recommend that all NZ mums-to-be have a copy.
I bought this book after my first miscarriage was great to refer to infomation and have shared it with many friends. Clear pictures and loads of information. Would be a great gift for a first time Mum.
I was given this book to borrow while pregnant with my first, I l oved it, it is my fav of all the prgnancy books ive seen, i like that its NZ specific and I find it the most factual and informative of the pregnancy books ive seen

Good to find a book that lists NZ agencies and advice. Really useful for first pregnancy and I’m sure I will use it for subsequent ones.Easy to read, takes you through the 9 months of pregnancy and beyond.
Has a lot of advice and places to turn for the NZ parent.
now on my 3rd pregnancy – this book has been a great read each time … full of information that I either didn’t know or have forgotten – and I love that it is a NZ bookI am so glad a friend recommended it before I had my first
I was given this at my baby shower, I read it and enjoyed it… felt that a few things could be updated, but otherwise a good read and reference.
This was my bible during my two pregnancies. It was clear and concise and kept me informed about the NZ system and what was to happen at each visit.
I found this book really informative and loved the fact that it was New Zealand specific. The copy I had was a pre loved copy and I have passed it on to plenty of friends and family who have also found it really useful 🙂
I absolutely loved this book when I had my babies – it had good practical information, and I like the way it was New Zealand specific. It was well thumbed by the time I had finished with it, and it then got passed through various friends and family (whereabouts now unknown!). I highly recommend it.
