The Storyteller – Jodi Picoult.
Sage Singer has a past that makes her want to hide from the world. But when she strikes up an unlikely friendship with Josef Weber, a quiet old man and respected pillar of the community, she feels that finally, she may have found someone she can open up to. Until Josef tells her the evil secret he’s kept for sixty years…
I am a huge Jodi Picoult fan and have read all of her books. I eagerly await each year for her to release her latest novel!
I love how Jodi Picoult can get you thinking about what you yourself would do if you were to be in the scenario that the main characters seem to find themselves in. Whenever I am reading a Jodi Picoult book I am forever asking my husband
What would you do if….
I found the last 2 or 3 books I had read of Jodi Picoults that it was taking me a little longer to get pulled into it to the point of not being able to put it down (it usually happens very soon into starting) But with the storyteller it pulled me in straight away.
I’m liking
I like how Jodi tells her stories from the view of the different characters and having not long visited Germany and Dachau concentration camp this story seemed to touch me a little bit more as it explores the present day effects the Holocaust has on both those who survived it and those who were involved in the running of the camps.
I enjoyed how Jodi intertwines the characters past, present and future and as always there is a bit of a twist that you don’t see coming until it practically jumps out at you!
Although it is a very sad subject it is a great, well written read.
Things that made me go hmmmm
Nothing really made me go hmmm about this book. Jodi Picoult is back to writing books that pull me in from the get-go. However if you do not like to read about the Holocaust then this book would not be for you as it is very sad and hard-hitting at times.
The conclusion
I would definitely recommend this book especially to those Jodi Picoult fans who may have gone of her books after the latest few.

Thanks for this review. I haven’t enjoyed her last few books so I’m glad to read that this one is a goodie. I was a huge fan but was a bit bored by the last few to the point that I forgot to watch out for the latest release!
