Anna and Roger Wilde are a Nelson couple with a passion for eating healthy, delicious food. All the meals in Real Fresh Gluten Free Food are gluten free and many are vegan or dairy free. Meat eaters, don’t worry though! There is also a seafood and meat section.
Their recipes are generally quick and easy to prepare – no huge lists of ingredients or hundreds of steps to make a dish.
I’m liking
They give great tips on easy ways to make recipes gluten free, such as using rice paper instead of pasta in lasagne. They photos are beautiful, and the food is full of fresh yummy looking ingredients. All the recipes I’ve tried so far have been great.
Things that made me go hmmmm
I didn’t realise this book was a reprint of their Real Fresh Food, but with alterations to some recipes to make them gluten free. If you already have Real Fresh Food, you won’t find a lot new in this one.
Some ingredients may be new to a lot of people, chickpea flour, millet and tempeh for example. All the unusual ingredients have explanations though, and you should find some recipes with ingredients that are already in you pantry too.
The conclusion
Great book for adventurous people wanting delicious, fresh and healthy gluten free food.
