Pipimoomoo loves her jeans. Until her friend lends her a skirt. And then Pipimoomoo is desperate for a skirt of her own. Luckily, she has an awesome mum who makes her a very special one all of her own. Pipimoomoo is a sweet tale for the preschool girl set 🙂
I’m liking
The illustrations in this book are fabulous – full colour and complex in their detail. I particularly love the way that the colourful pictures are set against a largely white page.
This is not a complicated story but there is some lovely use of language and my 4 year old particularly likes phrases like ‘Super Duper, Mrs Mejuper Goodnight Kiss’ (has already developed into regular use around here). The style is exactly right for my daughter and the use of language is perfect for the 3-5 year old age group.
Things that made me go hmmmm
Pipimoomoo has an awesome mum who makes her her very own, fabulous skirt and now my daughter wants one too! She asks me everyday when I’m going to make her one… sigh! Might have to get the sewing machine out 😉
It’s probably not going to be first choice for lots of little boys but maybe I’m just being judgmental about it!!
The conclusion
A lovely, engaging little book that preschool girls will love. It’s gone into high rotation in our house.
