When Pig’s friend Trevor comes over to play, Pig doesn’t want to share his toys. He likes to hoard them in the corners and leave Trevor to fend for himself. But Pig learns a lesson with this kind of behaviour, and everything turns around by the end.
I’m liking
This is the best picture book on sharing that I’ve read. The pictures are hilarious, the text is amusing and the lesson is clear. It’s a great little read and is a fabulous book to allude to when you see your child wanting to hoard their toys when someone comes to play (remember how Trevor felt when Pig wanted to keep the toys to himself?)
The conclusion
I love this big beautiful red hardcover picture book, and it can be happily read aloud many times. It’s relatively short and heaps of fun while teaching something important. Lots of fun for early readers here, too.
My preschooler goes around saying ‘well Pig flipped his wig!’ (one of the lines from the book) which is also quite funny. 😀
