Pippa, Pia, Poppy, Polly and Peg are quintuplets. Since birth, they’ve done everything the same — cry, eat, sleep, sit. But as they get a little older, things start to change. Now they want to do things differently — very differently. Can Mum and Dad keep their little girls as matching peas in a pod, or will those five very individual personalities win out in the end? Find out in Peas in a Pod!
I’m liking
This is a very sweet, quirky book. My 4 year old loved the idea of quintuplets and thought they were really cute. I liked the variety of interests, activities and dreams the sisters had and it was a great springboard for discussing how it’s okay for people to like different things. I particularly liked the fact that their dreams weren’t stereotypical, one sister wanted to be a firefighter for example.
The conclusion
This would be a great book for parents or teachers who are wanting to discuss individuality and encouraging kids to be true to themselves. Written by Tania McCartney and Tina Snerling and published by Exisle Publishing, Peas in a Pod has a RRP of $24.94.
