Beautiful illustrations, fun rhythmic verses and all the little things you can learn on each page about our native birds. On the last three pages, there’s even more “did you know” details for you to teach your children.
The conclusion
My children, aged 5, 3 and 9 months old love this book and we’ve read it many times over. I’ve now learnt the names of the native birds in Maori and a few new facts about them too. I’ve got an avid bird watcher, so now we can try and spot more birds while we’re out and about this summer.
The only thing which would make this book even better is an accompanying CD with their songs on it!
This would make a beautiful gift for any New Zealand child, or as a gift for friends and family overseas.
