Now We Have a Baby is a sweet, short little picture book that helps parents talk to their older (preschool aged) children about having a new baby in the family.
I’m liking
This is a board book so well-designed for preschool children. It also has lovely, colourful and engaging pictures that your children will respond to. The focus of the pictures is on the relationship of older siblings with the baby so it could be a good conversation piece for parents wanting to talk to their children about how to behave when the new baby comes (or even after the baby has arrived).
This book covers many aspects of new babies that can be challenging for older siblings including having to be quiet while the baby sleeps, the funny noises that babies make and also feeling left out. I really like the way that this book offers positive ideas about how older children can be involved with the baby including helping them learn how to smile, play and share.
The conclusion
This is a great little book that would be an excellent resource for families expecting a new baby and also those with a new baby in the house.
