If you’ve ever had a child who loves painting, you will know the value of a great great apron – and this is a goodie. You just pop it on straight over whatever your child is wearing and then you can just whip it off when you’re done. Straight into the washing machine and no paint on your child’s clothes.

Mud Mates Children’s Craft Aprons are made from a soft, lightweight and durable fabric. They come in three colours and are really easy to get on and off. I also found that they were very roomy, which also made them easy to get on and off. Although I had a size 4, I could also still use it with my 6 year old.
I’m not wild about velcro but it certainly made the aprons easy to do up on a wriggly 4 year old! The apron was also easy enough for my 4 year old to put on and take off herself (apart from the velcro at the back).
The fabric is really lightweight and I found it very easy to wash and it also dried quickly.
Things that made me go hmmmm
I’ll be interested to see how well the velcro lasts – generally speaking, I’m not a fan but as I noted, it’s very convenient.
The conclusion
I’m a big fan of craft aprons and the Mud Mates craft apron certainly made me more likely to get the paints out with my kids! I love the fact that they are made right here in NZ and my kids also liked wearing it. A big thumbs up from us.
