Marathons of the World explores 50 marathons of the world, each with honest descriptions and tales. It is so well done that it serves as both a travel book and an inspirational guide of that challenge, one day.

I’m liking

They captured well the detail of some of these places and times. They have run, and travelled, and talked in their research and it shows. The book is made of races and cities, each stories in themselves, and
a story not usually seen or told. It emphasises the human side of running, in coming together and meeting for these peculiar and endorphin filled reasons.

Things that made me go hmmmm

I’ve done a couple of these that they mention. I think that, for the purposes of a full and proper review, this could turn into something pretty exciting… and rather expensive.

The conclusion

This is more than it appears. It is not only for runners, and not only for travel. There is something very special inside these stories of these places and getting there.
