I’m liking
This game is a lovely blend of fact and fun. The games contained within the programme are good fun and well-pitched for children. Our daughter particularly liked the one where you have to swipe the butterflies. The challenges are hard enough to get me working and they were really just a bit beyond our 4 year old.
The production values in this game are amazing. The images are really high resolution and you do get up close to the animals. This has all the quality of a National Geographic programme but the narrative is broken up with some cute games.
Things that made me go hmmmm
The Kinect aspects of this game are interspersed through a Nat Geo programme so there are long phases where there is no action. This is fine so long as you are not expecting to just play a game.
The conclusion
This is a beautiful game that incorporates information and games in an entertaining manner. However, the documentary is probably the strongest aspect of the games and, to be honest, the Kinect aspect is a bit limited. TWell worth considering for 7-10 year olds and if you have an animal lover, they will be in heaven.
