Honey Child is a pocket style cloth nappy retailing for $39.95.
I’m liking
Honey Child nappies are high-quality and long-lasting.
The DriWick inner wicks moisture away from baby’s skin very effectively (I’ve never treated my baby for nappy rash ever) and the inserts are really light and fast drying. The inserts don’t need any folding either. Just stuff them into the pocket.
Leaks aren’t an issue. The three snappers on each side of the nappy allow you to get the nappy nice and secure around the leg and across the tummy. Honey Child also don’t pretend that “one size fits all” (a recipe for leaks). They make newborn, infant and toddler nappies, the designs of which are tailored to the particular physical characteristics of each age group.
I also like the fact that these nappies don’t need any pre-washing to condition them before use (they’re good to go from the box) and they’re manufactured in New Zealand – It feels nice to support some local jobs and industry.
Things that made me go hmmmm
My stuffing technique could be at fault but sometimes I find the inserts seem to be a little bit long for the outer. They sometimes poke out the back of the nappy and need to be tucked back in.
The conclusion
This is a really great nappy choice for families who want to use cloth nappies regularly with a minimum of fuss. They can be bought in bulk, which reduces the price.
