I’m liking…
I found it comfortable, easy to put on and adjust, and also has the safety loops in case the buckles come undone. I liked the roomy pocket and the construction of the pocket means whatever’s inside doesn’t press on the baby too. My baby sits at a good, kissable height when in it. The fabric feels really sturdy, I’m not worried about ripping it or damaging it at all. The buckles don’t rub anywhere.
The pocket on this carrier was great to your little bits and bobs and it meant that I didn’t need to take my bag when I went for a walk with my baby.
I also liked the fact that the hood on this carrier had a range of snaps so that you could adjust where the hood sat.
Things that made me go hmmm…
I have the old style infant insert, which is essentially a blanket with a padded top, and pretty useless, unless you want to carry your baby in the cradle position. The new infant insert has a little seat part to put baby’s bum in so they are in the correct position for their developing spine. It’s worth getting one of these if you have a littlie. The Ergo’s pretty bulky and doesn’t fold up easily for storage, I find it takes up a fair bit of cupboard space. The shoulder strap buckles can be a bit of a pain to reach to loosen or tighten. I would like an organic made-in-NZ version!
About the Ergo Baby Carrier
In The ERGO, the baby sits in a pouch created by the body of the carrier.
The ergonomic design supports a correct sitting position for baby’s physical development and eliminates compression on baby’s spine.
The ERGO’s wide shoulder straps and waist belt distribute baby’s weight evenly, alleviating physical strain for parents. Baby’s weight is drawn in towards parent’s centre of gravity, making the baby feel lighter.
The price of the Ergo is $199 (plus $55 for the infant insert)
