I’m Liking:
How light it is. That it’s a simple straightforward design. Reasonably comfortable with a 9lb baby. The big smile that came from my nephew when we checked it out in the mirror. The price, at around $80 it is not overly expensive.
Things that make me go hmmm:
Can’t get the crossover at the back any lower, so it pulled on my neck and shoulders. Difficult to get the snugness just right, baby secure vs sitting right on me. I didn’t love the fabric and stiffness of it all. Can definitely see issues with heavier babies just not being able to be carried comfortably by parent for long periods of time. As your baby gets bigger he/she is going to be sitting/hanging on their tailbone rather than having the weight evenly distributed over their butt and legs. A big no no in my world where froggy legs is the way to go. As your baby grows the head support disappears from behind and leaves nothing to protect them from flopping backwards when asleep, you would have to use your hands for this.
Extra for experts:
I would only ever recommend slings and carriers that have an adjustable back/crossover that can be pulled down so that the weight is distributed over the lower back as much as possible.
The conclusion:
I didn’t love this sling. Ultimately I would hazard a guess that it will leave your back aching and your baby hanging on their tailbone. Obviously neither is ideal.
