The Ecobubs Wool Blend Pocket Nappy has a wool mix outer with a soft microfleece inner.
For more information about Ecobubs nappies see our introduction. We’ve also got some great advice for getting started with cloth nappies.
I’m liking
The Ecobubs Wool Blend Pocket Nappy comes in four very attractive striped styles – blue/chocolate, pink/chocolate, red/chocolate, red/white and blue/white.
The inserts for this nappy are inserted at the front of the nappy (unlike most cloth nappies I’ve used where the inserts are inserted at the back of the nappy). I’m not sure why but this seems to help the inserts stay inside the outer better. They can’t poke out the back of the nappy like other brands sometimes do.
These nappies do not need to be soaked and can be tumble dried.
Things that made me go hmmmm
The medium/large insert is made up of two layers of microfibre folded in half and secured with a snap giving four layers of absorbency. While this provides a lot of absorbency, I found that when I used two inserts together (as is recommended for overnight) the nappy was quite bulky.
This nappy is also priced at the higher end of the market at $39.95
The conclusion
This nappy is slightly larger in all sizes than other nappy brands so it would be a good choice for families with larger babies who will appreciate the larger sizing and wide crotch.
The wool blend outer will appeal to people who value the use of natural products and buying these nappies in bulk will make their price more competitive.
