A review of the Cushie Tushie cloth nappies.

For more information about Cushie Tushie nappies, see our introduction. We’ve also got some great advice for getting started with cloth nappies.

I’m liking

Really cute nappies, love the patterns and soft minky.
I liked the elastic gusset bit at the end of the insert which was pretty good at trapping poo.
The wipes are gorgeous! They look and feel great, and best of all seem to repel stains really well.

Things that made me go hmmmm

With the insert in, I found there was quite a gap at the front where it didn’t sit snugly against bub’s tummy. This resulted in some leaks when part of his clothing slipped inside the nappy. I could solve this by not doming in the insert and putting it a bit lower in the nappy, but then the domes left marks on his skin.
After only a few washes, the soft inner part started to pill and feel rough.
The dome in insert only domed in one one end and tended to swing a bit on the other end. The other insert just sat inside the domed one, and also moved around a bit.
The great elastic gusset that was the great poo trap, also tended to trap poo when being washed. I had to often turn it inside out and wash it a few times to get it clean. This part also meant that liners didn’t sit so well in the nappy.

The conclusion

These win my vote for cutest nappy for sure. I was disappointed with what happened to the fabric after it had been washed a few times though.
