Cooper Bartholomew is Dead is an expertly woven thriller that is a suspenseful and gripping read, where supposed friendships are tested, deep seated secrets come to light and one boy’s death seems to hold more than meets the eye.
I’m liking
When Cooper Bartholomew is found dead at the bottom of a cliff, it affects a lot of people. They say he committed suicide, but his girlfriend, Libby, can’t believe it. Her boyfriend was happy, they were in love and he had big plans for the future. She makes a promise to him that she will find the truth.
We follow 4 different characters through the past and the present. They are not always likable, but that is life and we see the effect the death has on each person and it’s interesting to see their different perspectives.
The book lured me in, held my attention and as the secrets unfold I was eager to reach the end and find out what happened.
The conclusion
Cooper was the main character: the son, boyfriend, best friend – and it wasn’t hard to love him. So what happened?
You will have to read it to find out. It is worth it – the ending is brilliant.
This relatively short book is aimed at young adults but it is a book that would be enjoyed by all ages.
Cooper Bartholomew is Dead has an RRP of $24.99
