Super styley, well-performing pocket nappies.

For more information about Rarpz nappies, see our introduction. We’ve also got some great advice for getting started with cloth nappies.

I’m liking

The designs are fabulous. My favourite has a ducky with an Elvis quiff and sequinned pantsuit. On a baby’s bottom!

Bum Rarpz are good performers with good absorbency and a snug fit. The legs and waist are elasticated so we didn’t have leak problems.

The sizing is incredibly flexible. About fifteen separate domes mean you can alter how closely it fits around the waist and also how high up it goes, so one nappy would last a baby forever.

The nappies wash and dry well, and the website has a handy ‘how to’ section with troubleshooting.

Things that made me go hmmmm

The fabric is great in terms of comfort and absorbency, but it does mean that the nappy is pretty bulky, and we often left our baby’s clothes undone at the crotch which looked weird but made for a better fit. The bulky profile also meant that our three-month-old baby was a bit unbalanced when lying on his back.

The inside of the nappy is convex because of the thickness of the insert, so I’d also be keen for gussets around the legs to make them more leak-proof.

The conclusion

These are the funkiest designs on the market, for a reasonable price with good performance. I’d alternate these with more slim fitting nappies depending on what else the baby is wearing.
