It’s this world that Book, by David Miles and illustrated by Natalie Hoopes explores.
I’m liking
(Caitlin aged 6) I liked that it told you information about the thing it was talking about but it was a bit mysterious. Like something you had to solve. I liked that it was like a collage with bits of ripped up words in different languages.
(Rochelle) The story is sparse and leaves plenty to the imagination. The real joy in this book is in the images, which have a magical, dream-like quality. This book reminds me quite a lot of The Boring Book, which we also very much enjoyed.

The conclusion
This is a book for book lovers. The story is simple and not heavy handed and the pictures and detailed enough for many return reads. It’s a beautiful book. It was a tricky read for my 6 year old as there was quite a lot of metaphorical language, but it did give us lots to talk about.
