The Baby First nappies are a wrap style in that they have a waterproof outer and absorbent liner.

For more information about Baby First nappies see our introduction. We’ve also got some great advice for getting started with cloth nappies.

I’m liking

These nappies are an economical and effective nappy. They retail for $20 which means that you could get a set of 15 for around $300… this is certainly one of the cheapest modern cloth nappies around.

The nappies also worked really well on my baby. The gusseting around the leg kept everything in and I never experienced a leak when my baby was using this nappy.

The liners also dried reasonably quickly, even given that there were two pieces stuck together. The idea is that you’d change the liners and not the out but, to be honest, I didn’t find myself doing that- I just changed the whole lot.

Things that made me go hmmmm

These are a ‘no frills’ nappy- there’s nothing startling about them but they are economical and do the job well. Overall, I’m not a great fan of nappies where the liner is separate from the outer as they started to be a bit fiddly to hold together as my baby got wigglier! Still, though- I would definitely consider buying these nappies.

The nappies come in two sizes which means that you will need to buy a new set as your baby gets bigger but the pay off is a trimish, well-fitting nappy.

The conclusion

Although I didn’t LOVE these nappies, I did really respect them. Their worth considering if you’re looking for a well-priced nappy that will do the job without any fuss.
