Teaching balls skills and strategy, this book could be useful in terms of engaging children who might struggle with wanting to get their heads inside a regular book. Those who are really into rugby can test what they know through the various activities (though an answer page is provided at the back if they approach a parent for support who can do little more than identify Dan Carter… as in my case 😉 ). Smaller kids will have fun with the stickers and identifying players, but the activities are quite complex and I would think the pre-teen bracket would get the most from this title.
Things that made me go hmmmm
You’d really want to enjoy the rugger before getting into this book. It will really challenge their knowledge!
The conclusion
There’s lots of fun to be had here, and with an RRP of $9.99 I think this book represents good value. I can see it being a valuable purchase if you’re looking to keep a rugby-mad child busy if you’re heading away for few days. It would make a great gift for the right child.
