What adventures can a small child get up to when he spends the whole day with daddy? Adventures with Daddy is a charming picture book written by Cathy Kearse and illustrated by Gabriella Kelpatski. It shares the fun that father and son share on their day together.
I’m liking
Well written with simple rhymes on each page, this book is an easy read. It is just the right length for my toddler and holds his attention all the way through. He can relate to all of the activities as they are the things that daddy often chooses to do: playing with train sets, feeding the ducks, playing on the swings, fishing and more. All of the adventures are illustrated beautifully and the text is punctuated by humour and ‘uh oh!’ moments.
The conclusion
This is a wonderful softcover book ideal for children as soon as they are ‘safe’ with soft pages – probably around 20+ months, and would still hold the interest of a 3-4 year old. It’s a favourite of my 2 year old, and always provides a few laughs.
Published by Scholastic, this title retails for around $20.
