I don’t know about you, but I always like things to look pretty at Christmas. However, costs mount up and it’s easy to get carried away! This simple and inexpensive table setting is easy to make and would look fabulous with our Family Christmas Menu…
The whole setting cost less than $20 and there are lots of opportunities to vary the greenery depending on what you have in your garden.
A red table cloth adds a festive feel to a Christmas table. It will also look great with dishes like the Passionberry Pavlova in our Christmas menu. This table cloth was bought cheaply from The Warehouse and cost less than $5. You will be amazed at what you can find when you poke around stores like The Warehouse and $2 shops of various forms. Don’t be afraid to use your imagination!
While this table is decorated with traditional Christmas colours, the fern gives it a fresh feel. It’s also simple enough to look amazing with more colourful dishes like the Summer Ratatouille and Asian Slaw.
These gorgeous red and white roses are a wonderful, romantic touch and the paper doilies also add to the romance of this table. Don’t feel like you need to use roses, though… have a look around your garden (or your neighbour’s!) and see what you can find. You can often find paper doilies at your local $2 shop.
Finally, simple white paper napkins wrapped with ribbon and a slip of green fern finish off the table.
So there you have it! A really effective table setting that you can do without lots of fuss and money. Get the kids involved and you can make a real family activity of it. We’d love to see your Christmas table setting as well!
