The TV3 Derby Day (Saturday 2nd March) at Ellerslie Racecourse is sure to be a great family day out for all ages.
Picnics, barbeques with family and friends, music and the sound of horses galloping by are a few of the great family memories created from a day at the races. New for 2013, Picnics & Ponies is one for families and features free use of New Zealand’s longest BBQ as well as free children’s entertainment including pony rides, Popsicle Planet, bouncy castles, Ellerslie Swingball Park and giant games – with space to bring a picnic.

• There is free car parking oncourse at Ellerslie
• Children under 15 years enjoy free general admission
• Racecourse gates open at 10.30am
• Hospitality options open at 11.30am
• First race will run at about 1.00pm
• Last race (of 10) will run at about 6.30pm
• All bars oncourse shut at 8.00pm
