Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp red lentils
- 1/4 cup kumara, peeled and diced (or use baked kumara)
- 1/4 cup cauliflower, cut into small pieces
- 1 carrot, grated
- 3/4 cup milk – breast milk or formula will work well.
Method:
Rinse the lentils in cool running water passing through a sieve, and put them into a small pot with the other ingredients. Bring to the boil.
Immediately turn down the heat and simmer the mixture until the lentils are cooked and the vegetables are tender – this will only take around 10 minutes if using baked kumara. If more moisture is required, add a little water or extra milk.
Mash well or put the mixture in a blender to remove large lumps. Cool well, and serve to your baby on a small spoon.
