When it’s raining outside it’s time pull out the crafting materials for the kids to get creative with. Today I am going to show you a cute little craft using an egg carton and some pipecleaners or wool.
Egg cartons have to be one of the handiest crafting materials to save for those rainy days. We keep a stash of empty egg cartons at the back of the pantry, just for this purpose.
Jelly Fish – Egg Carton Craft
What you need:
Egg carton
Resene FX Fluoro paints
Pipe cleaners
Wool
Hot glue gun and glue
Googly eyes
Scissors
Paint brush
String
Needle
What to do
1. Cut out few cups from the egg carton
2.Paint them bright using the Resene Fluro paints and let them dry.
4. Using a pin and some string poke a whole in the top and thread some string through.
5. Tie a knot in the string so it doesn’t pull back through.
6. Cut your pipe cleaners in half, and glue a bunch of them under the cup. You can also glue wool under the cup to make the tentacles for the jelly fish.
Once the glue has dried, just turn them the right way up and hang the up. These can either be hung as a mobile, or played with as string puppets. You could even have your kids create a whole background and watery scene and video them dancing against a backdrop.
