Try this free recipe – a very simple Pasta dish to suit the kids – Pasta and Cheese Bake

Ingredients:

500g dry pasta shapes

500mls milk

Plain flour

Butter

Cheese

Spinach/broccoli/cauliflower

How to Make:

Pop the oven on to 180c.

Now pour some milk (I’ve never measured this but I reckon 500mls) into a pan, add a heaped tablespoon of flour and a knob of butter. Place over a low heat and hand whisk until a smooth sauce results and it’s simmering gently. Now add a handful of grated cheese and whisk again.

When the pasta is cooked, drain it and place in a lasagne dish, mix in the lightly steamed veg and pour the cheese sauce on top.

At this stage you could also add some chopped ham, or crispy bacon too.

You could add grated nutmeg, or paprika and salt and pepper.

Sprinkle cheese on the top, pop in the oven for 10-15 minutes while you lay the table and pour yourself a glass of wine!

My kids love it, it’s healthy and fairly quick to prepare.
