JAWBONES® is The Buildable Art System™ with construction pieces that swivel, ratchet and snap together in countless ways. It comes in a range of packet sizes and, like other construction toys, you can mix and match the packs to make… almost anything!

I’m liking

Jawbones is easy to use and the pieces fit together really well. There are lots of ways to combine the pieces in sometimes unexpected ways. The pack that we had had instructions for making a little buggy and this was easy to put together. Although the instructions were not particularly developed, they were straightforward enough to follow. The hinges worked particularly well.

While the recommended age was 6 and up, my 3 1/2 year old really enjoyed playing with the Jawbones and although she’s not old enough to follow the instructions, she had loads of fun putting pieces together in different ways and making ‘creations’.

Things that made me go hmmmm

The edges on the pieces can be a bit sharp and because they’re quite hard to take apart, your fingers get sore after playing with them for a while.

The pieces can also be quite hard to take apart at times and my daughter struggled with this a bit. On the flip side, it means that the pieces don’t fall apart.

The conclusion

This is a fun toy that will engage the imagination of a whole range of kids. I can see this as being a particularly good toy for boys aged about 8-10. It’s good fun! Jawbones kits are available from Whitcoulls and Farmers.
