What is the CMBC Bereavement Support?
The Christchurch Multiple Birth Club Inc (CMBC) has a focus on supporting parents of multiples and strives to provide a range of support services. As part of this, they acknowledge that at times there is devastation, loss and grief instead of great joy and happiness when birthing, parenting and raising multiples.
What does CMBC Bereavement Support do?
CMBC Bereavement Support provides understanding and emotional support to grieving families with multiples. This support can be at anytime, and as much or as little as you require. It may also be days, weeks or months after your loss. Whatever feels right for the individual.
CMBC Bereavement Support is able to provide you with the following support resources and facilitations:
- Support by phone
- Support by home or hospital visiting
- Facilitation of Tangible Memories – before the funeral if requested
- Arranging a funeral
- Casting of feet, hands, face
- Complimentary memorial stone plaque – facilitated for anyone in New Zealand
- Complimentary anniversary cards

CMBC Bereavement Support is funded by The Christchurch Multiple Birth Club Inc though its membership fees, fundraising and community grant applications throughout the year.

How much does it cost?
The CMBC Bereavement Support is free to anyone who has experienced a loss of a multiple/multiples. Though the support is offered in the Canterbury region, anyone who has experienced this specific type of loss and grief is welcome to contact CMBC Bereavement Support for help or information.
