It was Joe and Ellie’s bedtime. But Joe and Ellie were not in bed. The New Babysitter tries all kinds of tactics, but to no avail. However the New Babysitter has one last trick up her sleeve: “Go to sleep or I let loose the leopard!” But she couldn’t, she wouldn’t. Would she?

Go To Sleep or I Let Loose the Leopard is our current favourite bedtime book – even with husband! The book starts innocently enough and Joe and Ellie seem to getting the best of the baby sitter – but there’s a gorgeous twist at the end that made us laugh out loud. It’s a shortish story but there’s enough humour to engage both Miss 3 and Miss 5.
The pictures are colourful and expressive and there’s a lovely sense of movement in them. The language is full of onomatopoeia and my kids love repeating the words.
The conclusion
One of the best kids books we’ve read this year and sure to be on high rotation for a while yet!
