Oh, Chelsea. You just keep getting better. I loved Everyday Delicious more than At My Table. And I might just love Homemade Happiness best of all. But the truth is, I cook from all three, all the time!
I’m liking
OK let me just say that there appears to be a new phenomenon in cook books that I luuurve. Double bookmarks. Chelsea provides a sturdy ribbon bookmark in grey, and an additional one in red. Well if you don’t love this food enough to immediately plan at least two meals from the book’s content, then I’ll eat my hat.
Chapters in this title include lighter meals, dinner time, desserts, baking, lunchboxes (cool chapter, Chels!), nibbles and sides – sooo useful, I use these sides all the time. I like the structure and clarity of this book, she keeps improving in this sense. The food is just soo cookable. Look, I’m sure Chelsea Winter doesn’t need me to talk her up. She’s amazeballs, and NZ darn well knows it. Just buy this if you haven’t been fortunate enough to unwrap it midst your Christmas gifts. It will get used. Lots.
Things that made me go hmmmm
My only problem is that common one – the cookbook won’t stay open on the page you need. Sigh.
The conclusion
Another amazing thing about Chelsea is you’ll probably know at least a dozen others who have this book, and you can compare, and inspire, and encourage. She’s not going anywhere fast, writing cookbooks is surely her destiny. Can’t wait for more.
Pass the custard square, will you love? It’s to die for.
Homemade Happiness is published by Penguin Random House and retails for $50.00
