Sneaky Snake happens upon Baby Kangaroo after he’s become separated from his Mother. Should Baby Kangaroo trust Sneaky Snake, or is he trying to mislead the poor little guy while his Mother is elsewhere?

This is a really endearing little story. Immediately a small child will feel empathy for poor Baby Kangaroo at having been separated from his mother. This provides a good talking point for what your child could do in a similar situation. Lots of friendly birds warn Baby Kangaroo about listening to Sneaky Snake, and everything works out well in the end.
This book comes with the story being read on an audio CD, with chimes for when the pages should be turned. It’s a great addition to this story.
Bright, clear cartoon illustrations by Terry Fitzgibbon add to the story. Lots of repeated phrases and alliteration move the story along at a good pace.
The conclusion
This is a great picture book that I quite like. It can help you address a stranger-danger type situation with your child in a delicate and lighthearted manner, and encourage your child to look out for others just like the birds are looking out for Baby Kangaroo.
