We recently spent a few days in Queenstown, to see what it’s like in the warmer months. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park and it was the perfect base to explore from.
The Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park has introduced a V.I.K programme, or Very Important Kids! To say your kids will be looked after at the Holiday Inn is an understatement. They were totally treated like VIK. The staff at the hotel were amazing, really warm and really casual. Even though the Holiday Inn hotel has quite a grandiose feel, with glass fireplace, lobby lounge and bustling little restaurant, it still feels really homely and relaxed. And the staff genuinely go out of their way to say hello and make sure you have all you need.
The fit-out is really good, and has a real quality feel about it, right down to the herringbone tiles in the bathrooms. The bedrooms are very spacious with huge beds, balconies with great views, large TVs, very nice bathrooms, and it was all meticulously clean. We had an adjoining room with matching door keycards, so it felt more like an apartment than seperate rooms.
It’s a great location too, just 5 minutes from Queenstown Airport, around the corner from our favourite Queenstown cafe, the Buzzstop Honey Centre & Cafe, and an easy Uber into town. And it’s really well placed for a self-drive vacation, especially if you’re headed to the Remarkables ski fields.
The Very Important Kids programme also includes wrist bands that give you discounts to a bunch of family-friendly activities around Queenstown, which we made the most of. You can check out all the benefits of the VIK programme here: https://queenstownremarkables.holidayinn.com/family_travel/
And at the end of a busy day, packing in adventure activities around Queenstown, the Holiday Inn is perfect to come ‘home’ to. You can chill out at the bar, while the kids lounge in the lobby. And the menu at Giants restaurant will leave you salivating. Again the staff are just awesome, and the food is very, very good!
But, don’t take our word it! It was our kids who were VIK at the Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park. And if there’s one thing all travelling parents know, ‘if the kids are happy, we’re happy!’
