Cove launched mid-2017 with the goal of making insurance in New Zealand friendlier, smarter, and a whole heap simpler.
The company currently offers comprehensive car insurance from just $29.16 per month and is looking to expand into other types of insurance over the next 12 to 18 months.
Kiwis these days are getting slick digital experiences from their banks and apps like Uber, Netflix, and Airbnb have raised the bar in terms of customer expectations. Somehow, insurance has been left behind, so we thought it was about time we gave it a refresh.
Explains Cove co-founder and CEO Andy Coon.
“New technology is enabling lots of interesting things in the insurance sector internationally, and it’s time New Zealand started to see some of this innovation. These technologies have the potential to make sorting your car insurance a much more stress-free experience”.
Cove explores any avenue available to make insurance less of a headache for its customers, including:
- Enabling the customer to quote, buy, and manage their insurance online from any device.
- Providing simple online quotes that ask just enough questions to personalise the quote (without overcomplicating the process).
- Favouring monthly policies to ensure Cove customers aren’t locked into long inflexible contracts, at the same low price that could be achieved through annual policies.
Cove’s strength comes from the team’s decades of experience in the New Zealand insurance industry, and relationships with some of the top names in insurance globally.
Since launch, the company has been covered by Stuff, NZHerald, Interest.co.nz, RadioLIVE, NBR, and a number of other publications in New Zealand.
Coming up to its one year anniversary the company is proud to have a near-perfect 4.8-star rating from existing customers and the team has their eyes set on making home and contents insurance easier in the future.
