Seriously divine. Vintage done beautifully, is, well beautiful. There is something about old school style that just takes my breath away.
Little Arlo is lucky enough to have the very talented Gabrielle as his mother, and being a bit of a vintage wearing family, and strong appreciators of all thrifted vintage things, it made complete sense to her to go with a Vintage Afternoon Tea Party them for Arlo’s 2nd birthday.
The invitations were make using pictures from vintage children’s books, as was the bunting in the back garden. The tissue paper pompoms, crochet blankets and retro umbrellas completed the perfect vintage backdrop.
The tables were set using thrifted table cloths, the families collection of old glasses, jugs, Crown Lynn cups, traditional flowers and featured more pictures from old books.
Old school style home baking was served – pikelets, meringues, ginger slice, cupcakes and club sandwiches. The very sweet little cake was decorated with a tiny clothesline of vintage paper dolls clothes with a single miniature tea cup.
The party bags were Crown Lynn cups all found for 50c-$1 at local op shops, with old fashioned hankies and a bag of old fashioned sweets in them.
The guests were encouraged to wear vintage too to really complete the day.
