Conception to Due Date Calculation

Your due date is often referred to as your ‘estimated date of delivery (EDD)‘, every pregnancy is different and this is just an estimate.

The exact date of conception is likely to remain a best-guess scenario. Although if you’ve been trying to get pregnant, or you’ve only had sex recently since testing positive, then you’ll probably be able to pinpoint the date of conception. 

Either way, we call this the ‘probable date you conceived’, and it should be quite close to the actual date.

Once we’ve estimated your likely conception date, we can work out what your baby’s estimated age is, as of today.

We think this is one of the coolest dates because it tells you the estimated date of your foetus. And in a way, this is the actual age of your baby. It’s the number of weeks and days since your baby’s ‘birth date’, or the day you conceived!

How do I Calculate When is my Baby Due?

It’s really impossible to say exactly when your baby might be born.

But a pregnancy due date calculator will help to give you a pretty good idea, certainly within a few weeks, so that you can start to prepare for the big day!

Of course, even with a very accurate due date, baby may arrive earlier or later than the date. But knowing roughly when your baby is due means you can start planning your parental leave, baby scans and begin thinking about pre and post-natal health and nutrition, etc.
