NEW ZEALAND POST BOOK OF THE YEAR 2008 and Junior Fiction Category Winner in the New Zealand Post Children’s and Young Adults Book Awards
Utterly pleasurable to read.

Snake and Lizard are a lovable, foolish pair, always arguing, embarking on unlikely enterprises and telling one another hotly contested tales – none of which behaviour lessens their affection for one another.

The chapters in Snake and Lizard are essentially short stories about a pair of unlikely friends. Each story is a little parable told with spare language and humour.I enjoyed the awsome chapters in this book because the snake and lizard are very different. They become friends and set aside there differences and become quite close,so close that snake moves into lizards house.
To be honest with you, some of the tales in this collection work better than others. I was quite fond of the macabre and very funny twist at the end of the story
my kids have enjoyed this book and love Joy Cowley’s books.
