I’m sure there will be lots of us with a Mobile product on our Christmas lists this year and as the uptake increases, the prices come down.

While cameras on mobile phones are nothing new, applications to enhance those photos are. There are an ever increasing number of programs now available to ensure you get the best out of your photos.

Photoshop on the mobile and tablet just keeps getting better. Now with in app purchases and even more effects and tweaks, this is a very formidable photo editing app for your iPhone or iPad. The base application is also free and comes with more than enough to play with for any budding photographer.

Apple unsurprisingly does know how to do it best when it comes to its own products. Launched alongside the new iPad, iPhoto for iOS is the best way to manage snaps on your iPhone or iPad. With a clean and easy to understand user interface, plenty of photo editing options and a great album management system, no Apple device is complete without it. The app also has some great sharing capabilities and iCloud support.

If you like taking your photography further then snapseed is for you. Right now it is one of the most fully featured camera and photography apps in the app store. Included is a powerful auto correct function as well as plenty of fun filters and effects.

The improved cameras in the iPhone 4S and new iPad have helped bring about some really great video apps. 8mm camera is one of them. Think of it like the Instagram of video, it applies retro filters and style to your video. Great value too.

One of the most up and coming apps out there right now, Viddy is a great way to quickly edit and share videos with friends. The app integrates with Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, easily uploading video snippets, effects and all. The inclusion of free new effects packs is also a great touch.

This app is all about daily uploads. Posting one pic for each day of the year and then viewing events around the world via the app’s calendar. You can quickly share images to things like Twitter and Facebook straight within the app, as well as view friend’s efforts.

Vyclone is as unusual as it is inventive, letting you combine your own video with friends to create complex collaborative projects. Get everyone to shoot one single event, send them all to Vyclone and the app will edit everything together to create one single multi-angled cut. Very clever.
Free; iPad, iPhone and Android
Touchnote is a way to share any photo you have taken with your iPhone or iPad with family or friends. The difference is that Touchnote turns your snap into a postcard and sends it to them.

Despite being fairly self-explanatory, Diptic is actually very useful. Putting together photos on the iPad and iPhone isn’t actually that easy, Diptic fixes this by doing it for you.

Popset boast the fastest multi-shot camera on the app store, letting you rapidly create series of images. These pics can then be shared instantly with friends via Facebook or Twitter and have filters and edits applied in app.

Still one of the best applications on the app store. Instagram has a vast number of users, one of the easiest to use user interfaces and a great set of photo editing effects. Share Polaroid style photos between friends and followers.
I really like Vyclone. It’s quite different from other apps and makes you feel like you’re creating a great video.
