Try this great recipe – a quick and easy dessert – for you and the kids. It goes great with a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning, or as an easy weekend dessert treat.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp cake flour
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa
- 3 tbsp milk
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp chocolate drops optional
- 1/4 tsp vanilla essence optional
Instructions
-
Add dry ingredients to a large mug, and mix well.
-
Crack an egg and add it to your mug. Mix into dry ingredients with a fork, or small whisk. Be sure to mix it well to avoid any pockets of flour in the corners.
-
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
-
Add the chocolate drops if you’ve got them, and a splash of vanilla essence too.
-
Pop your mug into the microwave and cook for around 2 minutes on high power (1000watt). Or until it has stopped rising, and is firm to the touch.
-
If necessary, run a knife around the sides of the mug, and tip the still warm cake out of the mug and onto a saucer.
Recipe Notes
Sit back and enjoy with a coffee – you deserve it!
Thanks for that! Good advice!
I found this rather difficult to make in a mug, not only was mixing hard but it also overflowed when in the microwave. In the end I used a 500ml Pyrex jug which worked well.
